Project CARE: Community Action Readiness Effort
Caring Community Network
Cooperating to assist those in need
Project CARE (Community Action Readiness Effort) is a Deployment Contingency Plan, originally written in 1999 by representatives of the Jacksonville/Onslow Chamber of Commerce, the City of Jacksonville and the Onslow Civic Affairs Committee.
The mission of Project CARE is to provide a plan that can be put into immediate action in the event of a massive deployment of Marines and Sailors from MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River. A massive deployment is most likely to occur as a result of declared war or preparation for impending war.
