Child Care and Early Education Task Force

In October 2025, the Community Child Care & Early Education Task Force was formed through a strategic partnership between One Place and the Jacksonville Onslow Chamber of Commerce to address Onslow County’s growing child care crisis.

The Task Force was established to examine the local child care landscape, identify the most pressing challenges affecting families, child care businesses, and employers, and explore opportunities to strengthen the early childhood system.

This report summarizes the Task Force’s work to date, highlighting the current state of care and early education in Onslow County, its impact on children, families, businesses, and the local economy, while presenting potential solutions to improve access to affordable, high-quality child care.
